Comfandi is a family compensation fund in Valle del Cauca that integrates health, education, recreation, credit, and housing services. They have been a client of esinergia for eight years.

Comfandi serves 665,000 affiliated workers, 1.23 million covered individuals, and more than 61,000 corporate employers. Its main portal had to clearly communicate this extensive range of services to very distinct audiences: members, companies, families, and the community at large. Furthermore, the portal serves as the gateway to multiple programs and business units.

Comfandi has been an esinergia client for eight years. The following section outlines the initial project, along with the insights gained from eight years of continuous operation regarding compensation funds: their offerings are in a state of constant flux due to shifting regulations, evolving programs, and changing subsidies. A compensation fund's portal is a never-ending project.

The previous digital ecosystem lacked the flexibility required to evolve the design and user experience, seamlessly integrate with the internal systems of each specific service, or sustain modern operations amidst permanent regulatory changes.

01 Challenge

A headless Drupal CMS to orchestrate constantly changing services

A nuance worth mentioning: in a compensation fund, the demanding part is maintaining the portal while the offering changes. Over these eight years, we have delivered portal redesigns, microsites, the landing page for issuing subsidies and school certificates, and the marketing portal. Each of these responded to a change in programs or regulations, rather than a predetermined plan.

02 Solution

Eight years of operation, measured by the client themselves

After eight years, the pattern that has surprised us most is that continuity ended up being the primary outcome. A headless architecture allowed the portal to absorb program and regulatory changes without needing a rebuild, and that is what sustains a relationship of this duration. Three outcomes support this observation.
