esinergia is now a Drupal Platinum Certified Partner

In September 2026 the Drupal Association confirmed that esinergia has moved up to Drupal Platinum Certified Partner, after holding the Gold level of the same program. The recognition is awarded for verifiable contribution to the open source project, and it follows years of work by the esinergia team inside the global Drupal community.

This is the kind of recognition you cannot apply for or buy. It accumulates.

It also says something about the Drupal ecosystem in Latin America. The higher levels of the program have historically clustered in organizations based in the United States and Europe, where the Drupal community is older and denser. An organization from this region sustaining contribution at the level Platinum requires is a signal that enterprise Drupal practice in Latin America now operates to the same standard.

What a Drupal Certified Partner is, and what the Platinum level recognizes

A Drupal Certified Partner is an organization formally recognized by the Drupal Association for sustained contribution to the Drupal project. The program sorts organizations into six levels, and each organization's level is set by the weighted contribution credits it accumulates over a rolling twelve months.

The six levels, in ascending order:

Nivel Créditos ponderados anuales requeridos
Bronze 150
Silver 500
Gold 1.000
Platinum 2.500
Diamond 5.000
Top Tier 12.000

Platinum is the fourth of the six levels and requires 2,500 weighted credits a year, two and a half times the Gold threshold.

Three characteristics of the system are worth understanding in order to read a badge properly. Credits are weighted, which means the Drupal Association assigns more value to the areas of the project that need work at that moment, steering community effort toward where it is needed. Assessment is annual and the window is a rolling twelve months, so a level is held through continuous work and lost when the work stops. And verification is public: any organization's level can be looked up in the Drupal Association directory.

esinergia appears in that directory as a Drupal Platinum Certified Partner.

The program also asks for two things that are not credits: at least one case study published on drupal.org, and an annual organization membership. Credits are the part that sets the level, and the part you have to earn through work.

The difference between Gold and Platinum

The difference between Gold and Platinum is one of contribution scale. Gold requires 1,000 weighted credits a year and Platinum requires 2,500, two and a half times more, sustained across the same twelve month window.

In practice that gap is rarely closed by a concentrated push. Multiplying annual contribution by two and a half means the work of contributing stops being a parallel activity and becomes part of how the team operates: solving a client problem and sending the fix back upstream belong to the same workflow, rather than competing with delivery for time.

That is the shift behind the move. The intent to contribute has been there for years. What changed is that contribution became part of the operation.

How the Platinum level was reached

This came from work spread over years rather than a campaign.

esinergia contributes continuously to the drupal.org project, with a public record in the Drupal Association directory, and is a Gold Sponsor of the Drupal AI Initiative, the effort building Drupal's artificial intelligence layer. Much of that contribution starts in daily work with enterprise clients: problems that surface while running university portals and healthcare platforms in the region get solved, and the solution goes back to the project.

That loop is what sustains the level over time. A partner level is lost at the next assessment if contribution stops, so Platinum describes a practice that is currently running.

It is worth naming where that work is concentrated today, because it says where the practice is heading. A significant share of esinergia's recent contribution sits in Drupal's artificial intelligence layer, which is also where client demand sits: university portals that need to solve search and student guidance, and healthcare platforms that need patients to find what they are looking for without picking up the phone. The work that solves that in production is the same work that goes back upstream.

"The work we do with our clients feeds the Drupal ecosystem. And the Drupal ecosystem feeds what we can deliver to our clients."

What this recognition consolidates in Latin America

With the move to Platinum, esinergia holds three ecosystem recognitions at the same time: Drupal Platinum Certified Partner from the Drupal Association, Acquia Elite Partner in Latin America, and the exclusive regional partnership with Dropsolid for Open DXP.

The combination is what stands out, because each of the three measures a different dimension and none substitutes for the others.

The Drupal Association level measures contribution to the open source project. That is the community dimension: how much an organization gives back to the tool it lives on. It is earned through public, auditable work, and lost when the work stops.

The Acquia Elite level measures something else, execution capability and results on the commercial platform: projects delivered, team certifications, and performance verified by the vendor. That is the delivery dimension.

The exclusive partnership with Dropsolid opens regional access to an additional Open DXP stack, which widens the architectures available when a project needs something the usual path does not cover well.

Holding all three at once, from Latin America, with sixteen years running enterprise Drupal platforms in Higher Education, Healthcare, and Government, has no equivalent in the region. It is a position built by accumulation, which is also why it is slow to replicate.

What it means for organizations running Drupal platforms

If you run an enterprise Drupal platform, a partner at the Platinum level translates into a few concrete things.

Early access to the roadmap of the project and of the technology partners, which lets you plan migrations and upgrades with visibility instead of reacting once a release has shipped. A direct line to the community that builds the core and the modules your platform depends on, which matters when a problem turns up that is not documented anywhere. And verifiable backing for procurement and RFP processes, where a level in the Drupal Association directory is evidence a third party can audit.

There is also a less visible effect that weighs more over the long run. A team that contributes to the project sees the code before it ships as a stable release, understands why an architectural decision was made the way it was, and knows who to ask when the documentation runs out. That shows up in how long it takes to diagnose an unusual problem, which tends to be where the hours go on an enterprise platform.

For procurement or risk, the directory level is a signal that does not depend on what the vendor says about itself. The Drupal Association publishes it, it can be checked at any time, and it updates on its own. In a formal evaluation, that kind of evidence carries more weight than a reference.

Behind all of it sits something simpler: the team running your platform is part of the community building the tool.

What comes next

A partner level is revalidated every year, so the work that led here is the work required for the next cycle. That is already under way.

The direction is set as well. Drupal's artificial intelligence layer is where the project is concentrating effort and where esinergia will keep contributing, because it lines up with what universities and healthcare institutions in the region are asking for now. By 2028 it is reasonable to expect specialization to weigh as much as volume when a partner is evaluated, and for the question to shift from how much an organization contributes to what it contributes to.

Thank you to the team and the community

This recognition belongs to the esinergia team, to the people who hold the engineering judgment that makes this kind of track record possible. And to the global Drupal community, which builds and maintains the project everything we deliver depends on.
