When esinergia engaged with RedSalud Chile in June 2025, the corporate portal was already the number one site by visits in the private healthcare sector in Chile according to Similarweb. But the engine sustaining it was 2018 technology, and every additional year on that base was costing the business more in growing support costs and limitations to evolve. The conversation with the client was not about migrating a portal, it was about elevating it into a corporate DXP capable of orchestrating patient experiences at national scale.

The rigid architecture turned every editorial change into a development ticket, slowing campaigns and the autonomy of marketing and communication teams. Security gaps complicated operations in a sector where portal availability directly affects clinical operations. And weakened technical SEO translated into a 25% drop in organic traffic between 2022 and 2024, offset with a 63% increase in paid media spend per figures shared by RedSalud.

A corporate DXP on Drupal and four integrated Acquia products

We architected and deployed a corporate DXP on Drupal and Acquia Cloud, integrated with Acquia DAM for centralized digital asset management, Acquia Site Studio as the visual composition layer, and Acquia Web Governance for multisite editorial governance. The design system was documented in Storybook as an asset independent of the CMS, enabling internal teams to operate campaigns without going through development on each iteration. The architecture does not just replace the previous portal, it redefines the business's unit of measure: from visits to patient experiences.

One nuance worth naming: RedSalud's DXP was not a marketing showcase, it was critical business infrastructure accumulating technical debt with measurable operating cost.
